Proud to be Canadian

These Olympics have been absolutely amazing!! I'm not sure if its because they were in Canada or the fact that all the events have been on prime time TV but all I know is that I have never before felt so much Canadian pride.
The snowboarders were so strong and crazy....the figure skaters were so graceful and touching....the speed skaters were so athletic and exciting to watch....the hockey players just plain rocked!!...the luge and bobsledders were brave...the curlers were amazingly talented and the skiers were crazy but fun to watch.
I found myself stuck to the TV on many occasions holding my breath in anticipation of a medal.

I am truly proud to be Canadian!!!

On a side note, I have an Aunt that is in Kandahar right now for 6 months working at the Tim Hortons and I was so proud and emotional when they went live during the singing of O'Canaa to Kandahar base and there she was....in the front row singing her heart out!!
I will post the link, she is in the middle wearing a white Canadian Roots tshirt.

Scrapalicious Crop

I attended my very first Scapalicious ladies Crop the other night at my friend Natalie's house. Natalie and I have known eachother for almost 30 years and both ended up living in Edmonton after getting married and having kids. Scrapalicious Moms is a huge group of ladies and their friends that get together monthly to share laughs, yummy food and some scrappin fun! I had a great time and met some really great ladies...can't wait to do it again!
Here are the layouts I finished...

"finally 5" is my page I did for Max when he turned 5!! He was so excited.

Last minute Crop!

I decided at the last minute to join my friend Julie for a crop at Treasured Memories last night. We had so much fun (as usual) and I was even surprised when my friend Tina showed up and joined us!! We had lots of laughs, great food and they gave everyone a chocolate rose and a bottle of one of the new colors of Glimmer mist to take home!!

Here are some of the layouts I finished.....

Surgery Update

Today was the day that my cousin Tracy had surgery to remove her breasts after finding a cancerous lump. Tracy and I are born in the exact same month, in the exact same year and its still hard to believe that at 34 she was diagnosed with breast cancer.
My aunt called and let me know that the surgery took 4 hours and she is recovering fine. She was emotionally ready for the surgery and for the difficult road ahead.

She has quite the fight ahead of her but I know that she will do just fine with all the support she has from her two wonderful kids and her friends and family. Her older sister is also a breast cancer survivor and another strong woman that I look up to and I am sure she will be a pillar of strength for her sister.
Life is so precious and its at moments like these that I sit back and think about all I have in my life to be grateful for. I have an amazing family, amazing friends and the most wonderful husband and two kids that anyone could ask for!

My cousin Tracy is ready for the fight of her life and I promise to be there to support her in any way that I can.

Hugs to you and your amazing families!

Love T.

Happy Birthday Buddy!

Today my baby turns 5!!!! Yes, I said it...FIVE!!! I still can't believe it. This year there are some big things happening for Mr. Max...first he turns 5 and then he gets to start "big kid school".
He made me the promise that he would still give me snuggles everyday and let me call him my "baby" even though he was 5 now and sure enough this morning he hopped up on my bed and gave me the longest snuggles ever!!
What can I say about Maxwell...he truly is INFECTIOUS!!! He has the most amazing smile and the best sense of humor. He is one of those kids that if you meet him once, you will always remember Max, that's just the way it is!!
Quentin and I took him for birthday breakfast this morning and then to Toysrus to pick whatever he wanted. He chose some Lego and a Nerf glow sword (such a boy). We are having 10 kids over after school to play and have a pizza party today so he is busy counting down the minutes until his friends arrive.

Maxwell Quentin Gardiner was born at Sturgeon Hospital in St. Albert, AB weighing 9 lbs 12 oz......5 years ago today!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HANDSOME BOY. MOMMY, DADDY AND SARAH-BOO LOVE YOU!!!

I can't believe.....

I can't believe that my handsome son is now registered for kindergarten!! I had a little cry just walking out of the school with the application in my hands. Not sure if its because he is my youngest and last baby to start school or what. Its hard to believe how fast my kids are growing...it just seems like yesterday that they were just babies.

I can't believe that the groundhog saw his shadow and we are headed for 6 more weeks of winter....really should we believe some groundhog??

I can't believe the Oilers actually won their first game after 17 losses!!! Sometimes I find it so hard to be an Oiler fan, I wish I had as much faith as my husband.
It could be worse.....I could be a Flames fan!!!

Have a great evening everyone!!
